Situated at the mouth of the Pearl River in Guangzhou, the International Financial Forum (IFF) Permanent Site makes a powerful visual statement with its iconic kapok flower form. Designed by BIAD South China Design Centre in collaboration with AAUPC, the architecture is deeply rooted in Lingnan culture. The main façade draws from traditional timber structures, with elegant, upward sweeping curves that create a sense of openness and grandeur.

The project incorporates 10,800 square meters of white precast concrete panels, manufactured by Guangzhou STYIE ARTS using Aalborg White cement. Renowned for its high chemical purity and consistency, the white cement enabled complex double curved and perforated elements to be realized with excellent workability, durability, and strength. UHPC technology complemented the design by enhancing performance and finish quality.

Encompassing a total site area of approximately 203,500 square meters, the development includes an international conference centre, a service hotel, support buildings, and public facilities.

The project was awarded the Gold Prize for Innovative UHPC Architectural Engineering at the 2023 GRC & UHPC Annual Conference.
