The Espadon Cultural Centre in Les Sables-d’Olonne, France, features a lace-like pattern in white precast concrete, inspired by traditional local lace headdresses. Designed by lars & Ballet and produced by Soriba using Aalborg White Cement, the façade combines local cultural heritage with contemporary architectural expression. A screen-printing technique creates the intricate pattern on the precast panels. The concrete mix incorporates metakaolin, reducing its carbon footprint to approximately 185 kg CO₂-eq/m³.
