Situated in South West London, the library building Clapham One was designed as a new apartment concept called PPP (Public Private Partnership) integrating a sustainable leisure center, library, family health center and 136 apartments. The cladding of this 12-storey building was formed by a series curved and dense white concrete masonry bricks made by AALBORG WHITE ® Cement. The concept of replacing rectangular with rounded corners of building covered with articulated white bricks broke down the overall mass and soften the visual impact on the high street.
The masonry bricks SPLITFACE FINISH SERIES with white rugged surface emulating artificial hewn stone gave the building nature, elegant and unobtrusive characteristic which enabling brand new building to blend into established communities with impressive ease.
